3 Benefits of Divine Favour
“For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.”
Psalms 44:3
Israelites did not possess the land of Canaan by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them. They were saved by God’s right hand of power and the light of His presence. God did all these for them because of His favour which He channelled into their lives. Favour is a powerful tool in the hands of God. God’s favor is the power that changes things for us and delivers things into our hands. Whatever you want to possess in life is possible on the basis of God’s favour. The truth is that our various efforts to acquire great possessions will amount to nothing, if we are not favoured by God. It will be an attempt in futility to labour without God’s favour. People who labour in vain are not favoured by God! It is labour plus favour that makes life worth living!
Like Naphtali, we must desire and ask God to be satisfied with favour, as a drop of favour intermittently will not suffice. The Bible says, “And of Naphtali he said, O Naphtali, satisfied with favour, and full with the blessing of the LORD: possess thou the west and the south.”
Deuteronomy 33:23
Does favour have benefits? Yes!
Now let’s consider 3 benefits of favour:
1. Restoration
“And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty”
Ex. 3:21
One of the outstanding benefits of divine favour is the restoration of wasted years! Favour produces restoration of everything that the enemy has stolen from you. The children of Israel had served the Egyptians for several years without proper and befitting remuneration. But favour came on the scene and ensured that they did not go empty.
2. Preference
“And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.”
Esther 2:17
In this passage, we see the king preferring or loving Esther above all other young women, and she became his favourite. Do you know that it was favour that made Esther to become the new queen in place of Vashti?
It was not her beauty or pedigree. No! The benefit of favour is preference! It is promotion or exaltation to higher office.
3. Reversal
“And said, If it please the king, and if I have favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king’s provinces:”
Esther 8:5
A favoured person can experience a reversal of policies, a change of laws or rules! Through favour you can provoke a change or reversal of government or company policy or regulation. Through favour that letter of dismissal can be changed to a letter of promotion! Don’t forget, with God all things are possible!
I decree and declare that you will enjoy all the benefits of favour in Jesus mighty name.
